Eligibility for Services

All Tuscola County residents are served by this program.

Vaccine for Children (VFC) eligibility are children through 18 years of age (under 19) who meet at least one ofthe following criteria:

  • Medicaid/MI-Child
  • Uninsured
  • American Indian or Alaska Native
  • Underinsured (has insurance, but the insurance does not include vaccines or does not cover all ACIP recommended vaccines)

 

Children who qualify for VFC will receive free vaccinations and may be required to pay a $20.00 administration fee for each vaccination.  Parents of children who do not quality for VFC will be required to pay vaccine and administration fees if their insurance does not cover it.  If there is a financial hardship, please call our Billing Department to discuss payment options at 989-673-8114, ext. 134.

Michigan Adult Vaccine Program (MI-AVP) eligibility are uninsured and underinsured adults 19 years of age or older, who meet certain risk factors.  Adults with vaccine insurance coverage or Medicaid do not qualify for this program, however, adults with a Medicaid spend-down are considered uninsured and would be eligible until their spend-down is met.  Medicaid will cover vaccine and administration costs for the vaccines included in the MI-AVP Program. 

Adults who qualify for MI-AVP will receive free vaccinations and may be required to pay a $20.00 administration fee for each vaccination.

Adults needing immunizations should call our office to determine the vaccine costs, administration charges, eligibilty for MI-AVP or insurance coverage information.

Tuscola County Health Department will bill most insurances.
