Services, programs, and opportunities for senior citizens.

Our goal in the Geriatric Program is to provide services, programs, and opportunities to promote healthy, safe, independent living of our senior population as well as supporting their families and caregivers. With the support of Senior Millage funding, the health department is able to provide services such as providing flu clinics, providing other adult immunization clinics (i.e. Shingles, Pneumonia, Tdap, Td, Hepatitis A and B), blood pressure screenings, referrals to community-based organizations and other needed services, education and/or presentations on relevant topics and assistance with Medicare enrollment. Staff also participate in community coalitions directed toward the needs of senior citizens such as TRIAD and the Tuscola Senior Alliance. We participate in the Annual Tuscola County Senior Fair and Senior Ball.
